2degrees announces 580,112 customers


Yesterday, we held a press event for the announcement of 2degrees mobile’s customer number. The company has enjoyed a rapid rise to over half a million customers, which it has achieved in just over 18 months, and we wanted to organise an event that matched this success.

We held the event in the Concert Chamber at Auckland Town Hall and we came up with the idea of a digital scoreboard to act as the compelling visual for media to take away. As 2degrees mobile CEO Eric Hertz finished his run-through of major milestones for the company so far, the scoreboard started to flicker and rattle through until it reached 580,112. This created some great drama and excitement and the true value of the event was shown in the widespread media coverage.

The media coverage included the NZ Herald, The Dominion Post, Stuff.co.nz, TVNZ, Radio NZ, Radio Live, More FM and NBR.

Homestar™ goes live as comprehensive home rating system for Kiwi homes


Homestar.org.nz was launched yesterday in Wellington by Hon Maurice Williamson MP and industry leaders.

Backed by the government and supported across the building industry, Homestar.org.nz is set to become the standard by which Kiwi’s measure and improve home performance.

The free online residential rating tool allows the consumer to get a better idea of the inefficiencies around their home. This could mean anything from poor insulation to having an unnecessary beer fridge in the basement that uses lots of extra power.

Coverage appeared on Radio NZ’s Nine to Noon, TVNZ 6pm News, TV3 6pm News, TVNZ Breakfast, Newstalk ZB, Easy Mix and in the NZ Herald and The Dominion Post.

Contiki Launches New European Tours with Experiential Marketing


Bullet PR held an experiential marketing event to launch Contiki’s new European tours for Summer 2011.

The iconic New Zealand brand is approaching its busiest time of year for bookings as Kiwis arrange trips for when the southern hemisphere cools down again next year. To help drive promotion, Bullet PR hired No.1 Queen St cafe, the busiest foot traffic spot in the country, and gave away free cups of coffee and pastries to passers by. To help attract awareness, promotional staff were dressed in the attires of various European countries.

So that everyone went away with Contiki on their minds, Bullet PR ensured every cup of coffee had a ‘Contiki.com’ sticker on top.

The event was very successful, with over 500 branded cups of coffee and 500 pastries given to consumers. Next up is the trade shows to make sure all the travel agents get the same message!

Bullet PR client, Huawei, held an Ultra-Fast Broadband Conference at The Hilton Hotel in Auckland on the 17th September.

Guest speakers included Steven Joyce, Minister for ICT and Paul Scanlan, CTO for Huawei South Pacific.

More than a hundred delegates, including technology and business media, attended the event.

Bullet PR client 2degrees mobile today officially launched its 3G network.

The event was held at the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village and it created a great atmosphere for the assortment of journalists and stakeholders in attendance.

In addition to the 3G network, 2degrees also launched a range of data plans to offer New Zealanders more affordable mobile broadband rates.

Finally, there were some new handsets on display and a hint towards the Post-Pay service on the horizon.

Coverage has already appeared on the NZHerald.co.nz, Stuff.co.nz, TVNZ.co.nz and TV3.co.nz as well as on Radio NZ and Newstalk ZB.

Panasonic Ball Kids put through their paces before Heineken Open


Bullet PR client Panasonic recently announced it will sponsor the 2010 Heineken Open. With the sponsorship comes, amongst other things, the naming rights for the ball kids, the singles and the doubles. The Panasonic Ball Kids, as part of their preparation for the Open, were taken through their paces by NZ’s number one, Dan King-Turner and their coach, Stephen Noble, in the lead-up to the tournament. One News’ Sports Reporter, Toni Street was there for the action with Bullet PR Senior Account Manager, Paul Matthews.

Project managed by Bullet PR for the past 8 years, the Awards are held in association with Creative New Zealand and THE EDGE. The winners will be announced by the Prime Minister at the black tie Awards Gala dinner at the Auckland Town Hall, Wednesday 30 July 2008. The Arts Awards attracted a large number of entries from both small and large businesses, showcasing a range of arts disciplines.
